| This project is funded by Nokia. Members of the HCI Lab at Cornell
have designed and implemented a system, Campus Aware, to investigate
social annotation and community-building through mobile interaction.
This study aims at expand and strengthen social networks among
students on campus through location-aware applications on their mobile
phones. The application displays a location-aware map of the Cornell
campus, and users can upload pictures and text related to the
location. Augmenting traditional navigation, our findings will provide
a basis for understanding social applications of location-awareness.
Using ethnographic field studies, we will understand users' activities
on Campus Aware on Nokia N95.
