Courses Taught

I expect to primarily teach the following courses over the next few years:

COMM/INFO 3650 Technology in Collaboration
(Spring Term, Tue-Thu 11:40-12:55)
This course explores theoretical and practical issues in understanding how to support and sustain work in geographically distributed groups. A variety of social and behavioral theories are considered, and these are used to motivate discussion of issues in design and planning.

COMM/INFO 2450 The Psychology of Social Computing
(Fall Term, Tue-Thu 10:10-11:25)
This course brings theories of psychology and human behavior to online environments. The nature of online communication, impression management, relationship-formation, identity and group dynamics are all explored. (Note that Prof. Jeff Hancock also teaches this course)

COMM 6820 Research Methods in Communication
(Fall Term, Tue 1:25-4:25)
This course is a graduate seminar that introduces students to the range of research methods used in the field of Communication. The course does not focus on specific methods, but rather on the general attributes of what constitutes high quality empirical research.
